Australians have recently been introduced to Google Maps and Local Business Search in the search results of Google.com.au.
If you go to Google.com.au and perform a search on “Self Storage Melbourne” for instance, you will see a section that looks something like this >>
Where Google finds a Business and Geographical cross-match for your search, it displays a map high in the search results pinpointing the location of local businesses.Â
Having your business listed on Google Maps will not only help you to get to the top of the Google, but the ability to get directions easily will greatly assist your customers to find your business.
To ensure that your business is listed in Google Maps, you’ll need to sign up at the Google Local Business Centre.
A bonus of the system is the ability to create special promotional coupons. This would enable the customer to print out an offer that could be redeemed in-store. Not bad for a free service!
You can also target your Google Adwords ads to display on Google Maps. If you run Google Adwords campaigns, you’ll need to do this through the Adwords console.
