Lead generation Funnel – Why generate more leads?

Generating more leads is a consideration even when you have enough leads. If you had more than enough leads coming in, then you would never have to worry about making a sale to someone that you shouldn’t have. 

It’s a fact in business that we do catch the genuine interest of people who shouldn’t buy from us. It may be that they shouldn’t buy because of one of the following conditions:

  • They can’t afford it
  • They’re not the decision maker
  • It’s not the right solution for them
  • They don’t fit your company culture
  • They don’t like you
  • You don’t like them!

There are plenty of people that you’d be better off not doing business with. Therefore, the more people that you can say no to the better it is for everyone. You just have to make sure that you have enough leads to say no to.

Here’s an example of an effective lead funnel: One very successful company here in Melbourne generates 100 leads a week.

  • Out of those 100, they eliminate 50 on the phone after a 5 minute conversation.
  • They proceed further with the remaining 50 leads and eventually present proposals to just 10 of those.
  • Out of those 10 only 3 will sign up.

So to get about 12 deals a month, this company talks to over 400 people. Now that’s qualifying.

If you are struggling in your business to meet the needs of your customers and make a good profit, then you need to consider two questions.

  1. Can you increase your prices?

  2. Can you generate more leads?

The most cost effective way to generate more leads is with a professional web marketing campaign.

Sales Tip: If 100% of your leads buy your product then your price is probably too cheap.
